Make slime that GLOWS in the dark — perfect for science nights and Halloween! Everyone will think it’s magic.
What You’ll Need
🍶 1/2 cup white school glue
✨ Glow-in-the-dark paint (any color)
🧪 1 tsp baking soda
💧 1 tbsp contact lens solution (with boric acid)
🥣 Mixing bowl + spoon
How to Make It
1. Pour the glue into the bowl.
2. Add 2–3 tablespoons of glow-in-the-dark paint. Stir well.
3. Add the baking soda. Stir.
4. Slowly drizzle in contact lens solution while stirring constantly.
5. Keep mixing until it pulls together into stretchy slime!
6. Knead with your hands for 2 minutes.
7. Hold the slime under a bright lamp for 30 seconds.
8. Turn off the lights — IT GLOWS! 🌟
Why Does It Glow?
Glow-in-the-dark paint contains phosphors — chemicals that absorb light energy and then slowly release it. When you ‘charge’ the slime under a light, the phosphors store the energy. In the dark, they slowly release it as glowing light.
The Slime Chemistry
Glue is made of long stretchy molecules called polymers. The boric acid in contact solution creates ‘cross-links’ between the polymer chains — turning liquid glue into a stretchy solid!
Tips for Best Slime
✨ Charge under bright sunlight or UV blacklight for strongest glow
🔋 Glow fades over 10–30 minutes — just recharge!
❄️ Store in a sealed container so it doesn’t dry out
🚫 Don’t eat slime!
🚫 Wash hands after playing
Variations to Try
